Your account data (email, hashed password, watchlist, alerts) is stored on a persistent disk hosted by Render. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and are never stored in plain text. We use JWT (JSON Web Tokens) for session authentication.
While we take reasonable precautions to protect your data, no internet transmission or storage system is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security and are not liable for unauthorized access beyond our control.
TheTickerBoard stores the following items in your browser's localStorage to improve your experience:
localStorage data stays on your device and is not transmitted to us except where used to authenticate API requests. Clearing your browser storage will log you out and reset your display preferences.
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will remove your email, hashed password, watchlist, and alert data from our servers within a reasonable timeframe. Aggregated or anonymized data that does not identify you may be retained indefinitely.
